Rev. James Joseph Bell originates from the West Indian Island of Dominica. At the age of 23, while at the desk of his insurance business in Roseau, Dominica, he heard the audible voice of God saying “son, go into all the world and tell them what my Son has done for you.” It was to this voice that he responded and on that very day, he became a fully committed disciple of the lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Through the leadership of the Holy Spirit and the encouragement of the local church, he went on to study at the West Indies School of Theology in Trinidad and Tobago. This study prepared him for the Mission field at home and abroad. After graduating with honors, the Holy Spirit directed him to Portsmouth, Dominica, where he and his wife Aileen began their long journey, in obedience to the will of God.
In 1976, Rev. James Joseph Belle was ordained by the Pentecostal Assemblies. After working in Portsmouth for seven years, he was able to pioneer more than seven churches and served as the District Superintendent for more than twelve years. During ministry, he took the gospel to Africa, England, The Caribbean, The United States of America, Bermuda, and Canada.
In 1989, Rev. James Belle and his wife moved to the U.S. where he was ordained with the General Council of the Assemblies of God. He pastored in Florida for almost five years before moving to Richmond, VA, where he served at Rapture Time Assembly of God for fifteen years. He then retired and moved to Temple Hills, MD to assist in ministry at Evangel Assembly. God still speaks to him and his wife and they are continuing to listen while they walk by faith and not by sight.
